Dr. Livtar Singh Chawla did his MBBS and MD from Amritsar Medical College and Hospital. He then worked as an Assistant Professor in PGI Chandigarh from 1966 to 1970. He was Principal, Professor and Head Department of Medicine, Dayanand Medical College Ludhiana from 1986 to 1994.
He was Founder Vice Chancellor of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences at Faridkot when it started in 1998.
Dr. Livtar Singh Chawla passed away on Aug 31st 2018 and Mrs. Raminder Kaur Chawla passed away on Jun 10th 2022 but their legacy and memory remains alive in the hearts of those they helped and inspired.
